WHO IS DEBRA (DEB) KAHOOKELE?
Born in South Carolina and raised on Army bases, Deb has lived in California since the mid-70s and has been a proud resident of Long Beach since 2010.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cal State University, Long Beach, and has attended Long Beach City College.
WHAT HAS DEB DONE FOR THE COMMUNITY?
Deb’s contributions to Long Beach are numerous and impactful. President of the Promenade Area Resident Association, Co-Chair of the Harvey Milk Selection Committee, executive board member of Long Beach Pride, active real estate agent and community activist.
As President of the Promenade Area Residence Association (PARA), Deb played a crucial role in creating neighborhood events designed to connect residents and businesses together, such as Final Fridays, movies in the park, trick or treat on the Promenade and many others.
HOW HAS DEB CREATED AN ENGAGING COMMUNITY?
From the popular Final Fridays to trick-or-treating on the promenade, her initiatives have fostered a strong sense of community and belonging.
WHY IS DEB RUNNING FOR CITY COUNCIL?
Deb is running for City Council to address the key concerns of Long Beach residents, including safety, cleanliness, and homelessness.
She believes that the community’s needs should be the top priority and is committed to implementing solutions that reflect the voices of the people.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM DEB AS A CITY COUNCILMEMBER?
As a City Council member, Deb will prioritize community-driven projects and ensure proactive communication with residents.
